The GKA have become so popular that, even though I turned in our ticket order on the deadline day, there were no tickets left. They phoned me and said they would ask some of the adult presenters - who were assigned seats/tickets, but usually chose to 'hang out' back stage instead of sitting - to give us their tickets. Through this course of action we were sent a total of 7 tickets - enough for our finale participants (Madison & Jacob) and their family/guests and our scholarship representative (Sam) and his mom. (McKeesport sent their order in late and they have no tickets - not even for their finale participants.)
This leaves us needing 17 tickets from our original order. I have been trying since the end of last week, and have not gotten any responses. I have emailed all the other schools requesting that if they have extra/unused tickets, that we would like to purchase them. If we get tickets, I will give them to our other seniors first - Cassie K. is next on the list. If you have any "musical connections" at other schools, please contact them and let me know if you are able to get any tickets.
Here is my proposal for a possible solution: From my past experience, tickets will most likely not become available until right before the show. We could get dressed up and wait at the Benedum for possible availble tickets. The GKA has a 7:30 curtain. Those of us (I don't have a ticket either - and I am last on the list.) who do not get tickets can then proceed over to Heinz Hall and see "Peter and the Starcatcher" with an 8:00 pm curtain (PNC Broadway Tour, winner of 5 Tony Awards). Please email me to let me know that you have read this message, and if you are intersted in participating in this plan. You can use the contact button on this website.
